Turn the printer on while it’s connected by usb. It was located in the middle of the board On the formatter (green circuit board) there is a 2 pin connector labeled 10 or 11 that needs to be shorted or jumped. Start by gently prying from the back exposing the circuit board (formatter).

I am not sure how technical you are, however, I have a somewhat simple fix that worked for me.ġst. This works for firmware error or the dreaded “ Hewlett-Packard > which was my particular issue. This is after the fact but it may help someone else. If I do not get confirmation of approved warranty I will be giving it to an experienced tech for analysis and confirm in fact what I suspect and then persue the matter with HP more aggresively. He took my e-mail and promised I would get satisfaction but never heard from him or anyone else again. I even wrote to the President of HP and actually recived and spoke to someone and explained the above. I have written and spoke to senior HP reps and no one admitted to a problem. I have at least 4 HP M2727 not working and one printer that the tech said uses the same formatter board with nearly identical problems. An experienced technicion with over 25years of OEM service experience said it seems to be the formatter board. I called and explained the problem and asked for confirmation that HP will honor the replacement part(s) but no answer yet. that HP has extended their warranty on this issue but can't find it anywhere!? I phoned HP Business Support and they referred me to a service center.
